damn if you're a minnesota fan you're probably thinking "where's the respect at. Same with Baylor. If minnesota beats penn state saturday they will probably jump into the top 10 for sure.

OSU doesnt deserve to be #1 IMO. Their resume isnt better than LSU's :yeshrug:
Look up OSU's strength of schedule.
Then look up LSU's strength of schedule.

Now tell me how LSU has a better "resume."

One other thing about the "these rankings don't matter crowd." While I agree to a certain point, these rankings set an early precedent for how things will go later on. Last year OSU was 10th I think in the first rankings because of our bad loss. Never got over the hump over other 1 loss teams. They basically looked at OSU as the last 1 loss team to consider. So when you look at a team like Oklahoma, yeah other teams could lose and they move up, but for now, they are behind Georgia, Utah, Oregon, etc. for 1 loss teams. And will be behind the Alabama/LSU loser as well. So Oklahoma has a BIG road block to get into the top 4.

Honestly, I could see Bama AND LSU making the playoffs if they split. One wins this Saturday, and the other gets revenge in the SEC title game. Both games will be close.

I see Clemson and Ohio State winning out.

Clemson will get the #2 spot, but in reality, they'll be the worst of the 4 playoff teams.
They can’t play each other in the SEC title game. They’re in the same division.

yeah whoever wins lsu/bama game plus secchampionship should get in.

add Clemson(based off last season and not losing even though schedule is "easy") and osu if they finish undefeated with title.

The last spots are going to be pennstate, Utah or sec championship game loser(Georgia prolly)/or 1 loss bama/lsu saying they still deserve a shot.

Am I the only one that noticed how the exact words that came out of the chairman's mouth was the same talking points from certain high profile sports analysts for the past few weeks. All I see is consistent inconsistency with the logic that comes out of the Playoff Committee's decision. Every year they create a new idea to shape a narrative. I can't understand how you are to rank teams without bias but use poll ranks from ESPN, AP and Coaches to shape an argument. It's no way you watched Clemson play and said "you know what...Penn St is better". They basically said Bama was better than Penn St. because of the "eye test" then said... well Penn St is better than Clemson because "they played a better schedule". :what: I got nothing else to say on it because they are making it up as they go and are clearly judging Clemson by a different standard.

The problem here is the loser of LSU v Bama could get in without even winning the SEC.

This is the biggest problem with the college football playoffs. It nullifies the regular season. The conference champ should be in and that is it. It would give more weight to the game this saturday or the penn state game in 3 weeks.

Loser should not be able to backdoor their way into the playoffs.

and this is my beef.. 2 SEC teams doing a possible rematch in the playoffs is uncalled for.. especially if they basically doing elimination games right now.

LSU fans and Bama fans should be looking at this game like an elimination game just like the other 8 top 10 are about their games going forward. You lose, you out.

Aint no crying we still one of the best four after its over. That might be true, but you playing it out now.

The difference here is that LSU played Northwestern State who are 1-8, while OSU played Miami OH who are 4-4.

Neither one of these non conference games had any chance of being an upset, but OSU is getting the SOS bump
OSU has also beaten a 7-2 Indiana and a 1st place FAU. I actually had yall at 1, but i can see why the committee put us at 1.

I don't disagree with y'all at one, but I think using opponent win percentage is relying too much on the out of conference walkover games.
