Houston is a sleeping mini giant
the sleeping mini giants in college football IMO are:

Rutgers
Iowa State
Pitt
Colorado

The 'giants that will return with avengence' are

Michigan
TN
Washington
Va Tech [the schedule enough tough games that they could build momentum in a single season EASILY...THIS should've been on of those years]

They're not gonna be shot unless they get in a P5 conference. I'd argue SMU is a bigger giant if they get into a big conf.

They have a ridiculous amount of resources
yeah...houston will never be on the texas/aTm/oklahoma level

they MIGHT get on Texas Tech [coach with a gimmick] status for a moment though.

TN is actually a team that I'm kind of rooting for to come back..they're super oldschool and i got a lot of respect for their fanbase when I went to the TN @ Oregon game...

they're gonna get a good coach and class in the next 2-3 years and absolutely wreck shyt in the SEC running up scores and stuff, getting revenge...watch

I'm not sold on butch yet. However he is recruiting really well.

He's followed Brian Kelly at each of his last two HC jobs and did well with Kelly's recruits at C Michigan and Cincy. Need to see him do it on his own before I'm convinced.

Plus he looks like one of those bull dike lesbian.

They dont need to, they could/should be as good a program as Boise with the right coach

Supposedly Muschamp and Tom Herman are our top two choices. Most of our fans want Herman and are scared shytless about the possibility of Muschamp being hired.

As far as us being a sleeping giant I'd honestly have to disagree just because of the word 'giant'. I do think we could potentially be a perennial top 25 program that makes a run or two each decade but I don't consider that giant status ya dig. We have to somehow get in a P5 conference for that to happen. But thanks for the recognition because most people don't much about UH which leads me to...

SMU is a terrible program. They have a below .500 lifetime win % and if you take out the years they were notorious for cheating it is even worse. SMU has a worse fanbase, history, facilities, and reputation amongst black folks. They have no shot at getting into any P5 conference. We were taken before them in the AAC. Additionally, when it looked like the AAC would break up once Rutgers and Louisville got poached the MWC wanted UH not SMU. There is a reason the AAC media contract split the conference into 2 tiers based on media value (tier 1 uconn, temple, cincy, UH). The pac 12 and big 12 have had continuous discussions with UH not SMU (not saying we have a good chance either). Hell both conferences are more interested in Tulane and rice than SMU (the Methodist in their name is a no go for pac).

I could go on but I wanna focus on my main point which is please be Herman!!! :lupe:
