FSU should be clear cut #1 I think these mags just going against the grain trying to sell copies. It's crazy how one game changes a programs perception.

Anyone started looking at games they want to attend?? I really want to go to Arlington for the KO CLassic but I'm suppose to be going to f'n Dayton, OH for some mandatory work shyt....so far I'm looking at
Aug 30th: UCLA v UVA
Sep 27th: FSU v NCST
Oct 4th: UF v Tenn (doable but not sure), Va Tech v UNC (most likely)
Oct 11th: Ole Miss v aTm (Might as well since I'll be in Texas for most of October)
Oct 18th: Iowa St v Texas
Nov 8th: UVA v FSU (maybe)
Only game I'm guaranteed going to is USC/ND. Wanted to do Bama/LSU but ticket prices are ridiculous now

1)Bob's history with consistency. No matter how many people hate him, he has proven that he can flat out coach. One once has Stoops lost back-to-back games to the same team in consecutive season. He's like Saban.... He usually destroys the team the very next season that hands OU a loss. A lot of programs are nervous now that the catalyst for OU defensive dominance is back.
2)Most returning starters. On defense, OU only has to replace a corner and a safety. DL is gonna be arguably the best in the country and LB corps will return with quality experience. Charles Tapper, Jordan Phillips, Jordan Wade, Geneo Grissom. We have DL behind them that nobody knows about... yet, Now add Eric Striker. Every QB the OU defense faces may look like McCarron did in the Sugar Bowl. LB corps should be straight. OU has done some tinkering so that OU will be able to slow down the Derrick Henry's of the world. We need one lock-down CB and our safeties to step up. On offense, our OL is as deep as it's ever been so unless there's mass injury, OU should be able to run and pass without any problems. The only variables we have on offense are will the highly ranked RB's and WR's step up and will Trevor Knight be as consistent for an entire season as he was for an entire game vs Alabama.
3)Going 11-2 with basically what was predicted to be the worst team in Stoops's history. It certainly was one of our worst ffensive teams since the days of the wishbone. Other than the Texas and Baylor games, it showed up when needed.
I don't agree with the high ranking either as I've already stated, however, people shouldn't look that deep into it because the media is trolling OU. This ranking is by design. Stoops's teams have never gone wire-to-wire as the #1 consensus. The media is setting up future talking points about OU choking again. Nothing more.
I agree, as you already know with the ranking. No perception has changed. People know Bob and Mike(together) are great coaches that can compete with the best. Other programs would love to have them both(again, together). As for the mags......

Not really related to this year but I ran into Rolando McClain at the gas station last night....That dude should be in the league playing middle linebacker for somebody....but anyway thought that was interesting since he'd been said to have worked out for the Ravens over the spring. Dude definitely isn't in top linebacker shape (but still looks physically fit other than a little pudgy)...hope he saved some money.
