Nah...Dabo is a supervisor. He learned after taking over for Tommy and the next year him and Billy Napier tried to call plays that he better pay someone for it. What other coach in the NCAA that you know of got a pay raise and then took the extra to pay his assistants more. He gave Chad a $900k raise and a buyout clause of $6mil if he left before 3 years to be an OC anywhere else. What Dabo didn't do was have a buyout clause if he were to take a head coach position. You have to respect that...Dabo always said it wasn't an "IF" but a "WHEN" Morris left and his position was that he wanted him not to make a bad decision based on money but when it was the right time.
Keep in mind that Dabo found Chad Morris and lured him away giving him a bigger stage to showcase his game. No one was beating down his door...just like Venables. He was the scapegoat from Oklahoma and now that same defense that got carved up by WVU is the number 1 defense in the nation. I say all that to say one thing...If Dabo doesn't promote Jeff Scott [who has been studying under Chad Morris for 3yrs] then Clemson has a lot of money...and i mean a lot to pretty much get most OC's to come there. Remember Morris was getting paid 1.3mil a year...most OC's don't break a million at all. Then look at the talent that Clemson has returning [D. Watson, Tayshon Dye, Artavis Scott, Wayne Gallman, Mike Williams with a top rated TE that redshirted last season] and look at the talent committed
Deon Cain, Ray Ray McCloud, Kelly Bryant, Tucker Isreal, 2 top 10 ranked OL from what is the 4th ranked recruiting class in the nation. Any OC looking at the talent they'd be walking into drooling and smiling. So I don't think Dabo will get exposed b/c there isn't anything to expose. He hires them then gets out of the way.
