2000s was hella superficial. Lost the grit that made the 90$ real. And then it traded the garish flash for the sleek soulless plastic sheen that is the present.
Dead on.
Every facet of pop culture and youth culture became so corporatized and cashed out for maximum gain. Nothing seemed authentic anymore like it was in the 90s.
It was the beginning of this whole narcissistic me me me culture.
If you ask me personally when 2003 came around...that is when everything that made the 90s dope was disappearing and by 2004 it was over. It was a new era.
The 90s had more freedom to it. Especially being young. We werent on the internet all the time. There was no looming fear of war or terrorism. People were more genuine back then cause you didnt have a smartphone to bury your face into to avoid talking to people. Now? I don't even know where to begin. Truly 9/11 was the turning point.
