man

just looking at the nominations for the video of the year you can see how much the culture has fallen. The culture has basically been ripped out at this point. THe platform is completely gone. Shameful.

Now we are at a point where you have people fighting Iggy Azalea for Grammies. SMH

I recorded that shyt on BET. lol Still have the VHS tape that i watch from time to time. Had just finished my SR year of HS. Good ol days!

Was headed into my freshman year of college :salute:. I saw the repeat because I'd already heard about everything that happened at the show. I want to say Rap City did a review of the awards show or something like that. Can't recall exactly LOL

Got such a smile on my face seeing Biggie chilling in that throne on stage with Puff :mjcry:

A young Nas with a young Prodigy :mjcry:

Pre-Apple Dr.Dre :mjcry:

Even before the culture vultures invaded Hip Hop. It lost its charm. Its peak is prolly 93-97. Things went too left with the whole gangsta rap/drug dealer angle in the later years. Back in the mid 90s you can tell it was just some hood nikkas and bytches from the inner city using their craft to make something special.

Down the line it started turning into caricature's and over the top imaging and violence/sex/etc.
