It‘s a damn shame stories like these don’t get enough nationwide attention.

Locally it has been a story since June when he was first killed. HPD has been asking for people to come forward with information but no reward money. We need a local celeb or prominent attorney to offer a reward like they do for white people. Or the CEO of the nonprofit he was volunteering with. No one has come forward which is sad.

This young man’s family probably doesn’t have any money to offer the public to solve the murder. Rewards work especially for cases like this where someone saw the car, someone saw the suspect, someone heard the shots and then looked out their window, etc.

Typically don't advocate for the death penalty given the likelihood that a black person is wrongly convicted and then sentenced to death by a predominantly white court system. But if you wish to kill innocent black people in order to kill the "demonic" black people then so be it, right?

Also, it is at the same time, that while I recognize the severity of the crime such as the one in the OP, barring any future details that might come up, that I don't think black people exhibiting traits of antisocial behavior are beyond any help. White boy goes to school and kills little kids as they scream in horror, and people will still wonder what could have been done beforehand, how their parenting played a role, how others treated them, and how changes to mental health system can improve these outcomes... Black person commits a heinous crime and we are quick to render them animals who should be treated with capital punishment and nothing else.


I'm not even saying you are concern trolling about this, I think it is actually been the case, given how often people are quick to just post random acts of violence involving black people, that people have become numb to it and as a kneejerk jump to execution. It's like when someone digs up a video of a random black person attacking a random asian person, first thing on my mind is that mental illness in the black population is severely overlooked, it's actually insane, but you go through those comments and it's constant, "blacks are violent" and any other rhetoric bordering on race realism. I think, instead of posting these articles only to react with "execute him", "demonic", etc., we should promote improving the conditions of black people in general, and fund outlets to reduce the probability of this occurring. I'm almost certain you can track poverty as being a significant correlating factor to these types of crimes, why not target that if you care for these issues? As opposed to fighting other black people, and not in good faith, as you did towards @Godless Liberal CEO, fight the actual systems that create these environments and continue to neglect them. I just see that as the reasonable approach, seems to work everywhere else, not sure why people think it can't work for Black Americans.
