You do realize animals are intelligent right? I’d argue they’re more intelligent than human beings in a lot of ways. That bear knew he/she would be hunted down and killed if they killed those dogs plus those dogs weren’t a real threat anyway.
Same way wolves only attack humans when there is a direct threat. They know if one human dies the entire pack will be hunted down and killed.

Bears don't even rank in the Top 20 of animals on Earth in regards to intelligence and even the most generous scientific research puts them on the level of your average 3 year old.
If you believe a 3 year old is capable of the complex logical chain of cause & effect you originally stated, then good for you breh.
That was a young brown bear that wandered into a new environment and got ran off due to extremely loud & aggressive unknown species. There's a reason they used loud aggressive dogs to hunt bears centuries ago. It's disconcerting and unnatural.
