I see. Since I started in 1996, I've spent thousands of hours processing, repairing, and extracting vocals. As a hobby, I've spent a considerable amount of time doing this with 2Pac's vocals over the years too. Now that I'm aware of Tha Realest being used, I can hear the difference... If I share what I've found it will really devastate people. - Youtube Comment

Actually, Makaveli came out in November of 1996. Most of the bootlegs didn't surface until 1997 and after. By then, I'm pretty sure Tha Realest was already recording on Death Row. Actually, That Realest is on the Gang Related Soundtrack twice under the name Tenkamenin. Unfortunately, I think his vocals are actually on some of the bootlegs... - Youtube Comment

I've been a freelance digital sound engineer for 18 years and a Pac fan for longer than that. I always thought 2Pac's voice sounded really different on Makaveli. His ad-libs and vocal layers also didn't line up much of the time... Is Darryl Harper saying The Realest was used on Makaveli?? I always felt like that was Tupac's last completed album, so the idea that an impersonator was used for vocals saddens me deeply. - Youtube Comment

Naw I'm talking about Snoop Dogg clone Y.D.G. Tha Top Dogg.

I remember a representative for Deathrow said on that Deathrow website that Top Dogg temporarily put his rap career on hold to chase his NBA dreams.:mjlol::stopitslime:
