What a mess of an album. Chainz is a talented enough rapper but he's not that great of a beat picker. There's definitely some high points. Yuck is solid. Wayne and Chainz both sound inspired and it demonstrates what Chainz does best: just be a funny dude sort of swaggering about on ordinary trap beats. Nothing wrong with that. However the first half of the album comes off as a forced mix of drug songs with some really bad beats and a couple stabs at hits. Luckily around the halfway point the album does get better and saves it from a being a total disaster. The rest of the album can really be broken into three groups. Stop Me Now and Ghetto Dreams are pretty good introspective songs (1) and they have some of the best production on the album. The next group of song are girl/r&b songs (2) like In Town, Countdown and Like Me, something Chainz has never really been known for. It's clearly him not playing to his strengths as an artists, and it's not what people were expecting from him. However these songs in a vacuum aren't bad, they just don't sound good on a 2 Chainz album where expectations are elsewhere. The last group of songs are trap/money songs (3) that fans were hoping for but honestly they feel kind of tired and lost by this point in the album. I Feel Good is a nice surprise at the end though.
