MMA @Mowgli thoughts on the ground game?
BJJ is bear style.

The bears are raw power in the clinch. To their detriment. Those close clinch situations where you have a collar tie and you're damn near cheek to cheek with some clown don't give you the necessary room to execute techniques and lot of time the stronger opponent with more cardio will prevail.

Instead, when In a tight inside clinch that's a stalemate, push into the opponent and try to get an extension of the arm so you can pull their head and hand down thats extended on your shoulder for a nice snapdown, from. There you can take head an arm control and initiate chokes or body pin techniques.

Bears do a good job underhooking the arm for duck unders to take the back. Sadly their back control game can't lead to finishes because they dont put hooks in. They just ride the back and try to collapse the opponent so they can continue biting.

The bear really shines off its back with excellent guard retention. Always using its limbs to get an inside connection to the opponent so they can square up face to face. Never allowing their head to just get gnawed on. When they extend to much like BJJ they get attacked.

Everyone went home alive thanks to great technique and defense. Good hustle
