Great performance considering everything, the late sub, the going up in weight, and the lack of experience and still beat Cuadras like 10-2/9-3.
This was already obvious leading up to this fight but definitely something Loma/Usyk like in his style though not the same, it's the footwork and the angles from southpaw stance but he likes to trade in the pocket more than them and he's more economic with his shots, less volume, throws most of his shots with power, unlike them.
His defense is tight too though he's susceptible to uppercuts by putting up his high guard and that's something Cuadras noticed too. No defense system is perfect, it's kind of a "pick your poison" thing but I guess they will try to improve on that.
Cuadras is an awkward mfer, he stayed in the fight, was game throughout, always tried to punch in between Bam's combos, but most of his shots died on the gloves or arms of Bam, just threw a lot, and had some success with uppercuts and body shots on the inside when it went to phone booth war territory. Most of his looping hooks and overhands were effectively blocked though or even if they connected, they usually were cuffing shots, not flush ones. There was a big difference in how each fighters' shots sounded and looked like, Bam with the much more effective work.
Congrats to Rodriguez and interested in what he'll do next. He beats any champion 112 and 108 imo, even Nakatani who would be his toughest challenge. Bam vs Tanaka would also be fireworks
