absolutely not
.
yildirim benefited some fukkery because his fight with dirrell had some controversy and the wbc for whatever reason felt owed him
so it would have been benavidez vs yildirim if benavidez didnt lose his belt on the scales prior to his fight with angulo
it should have been yildirim vs the next rated fighter
this was the wbc ratings around that time
as you can see canelo is nowhere around..the fukkery was the wbc went to canelo to ask him who he wanted to fight for the title. which is bad enough but canelo picked yildirim beforehand and the wbc voted for that fight where it was passed with all but 1 vote - this is where the cherry pick talk came from - canelo vs yildirim will always have that stench...compounded more if you've ever seen yildirim fight..it was so bad DAZN didnt want to approve this under the original deal Canelo/GB signed which led to the lawsuit and other things
now of course yildirim is finally getting his title shot and when the fight comes off he will be out of the ring for almost 2 years..so this particular fight a canelo stan should not necessarily try to reason on..at all..mandatory or not...its not a good fight...period
now the charlos who i dont stan either of them so i have no idea why youre asking me about them - i have zero complaints on jermell charlo - he moves right, he unified 3 belts at 154 and is on his way to being undisputed..he's good on my end..however i made it very clear on what i think of jermall charlo's middleweight run...its underwhelming to say the least..i voiced displeasure on the lackluster fights like vs brandon adams and i thought he was soundly beaten by matt korobov and got a gift...even in the charlo doubleheader ppv i mentioned the fact he faced a derevyanchenko who had been put through the wringer in 3 straight fights and winning doesnt change anything regarding charlo's position at middleweight
