When AJ spoke about how he'd deal with Wilder he said a similar strategy, about how he'd get him out early, within 6.

"He wouldn't be there to do that to me in the 7th round, I'd go in there to knock him out"

I always favored AJ in the matchup just because he's sharper and more compact with his punches. But the problem was that his chin and stamina were always suspect. So that balanced things out for me. His stamina looked a lot better with the weight loss though. But I still don't know about that chin. AJ vs Wilder is still an intriguing matchup because it’ll still prolly come down to whoever lands the first big punch. AJ doesn’t have defense like fury.

All of these guys are flawed and can beat eachother on any given night. People are acting like AJ didn’t just get dominated and quit 2 fights ago. But all that matters is that he learned from it and came back better than ever. And now wilder has to do the same. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit to see wilder come back and catch fury clean in a 3rd fight. All of these guys are so up and down with their performances it makes every matchup unpredictable. Heavyweight prolly has the most parity of any division in boxing right now.

Fury's dad wants him to retire now, that's a bad move from a legacy perspective, yes he'd go down in history because of holding every belt at some point but he's quite close to all time great legendary status, if he were for example to beat AJ, Whyte, Usyk and Dubois then he'd go down as an all time great. That's only 4 fights, and if really wanna be picky, AJ, Whyte and Usyk. He can't duck AJ because that question will always remain, they are pretty much to same age so he has to fight him, Whyte deserves his shot and has been waiting for ages and is the WBC number 1, Usyk is 1 of the best technical fighters and Dubois would top it off because it would be fighting and possibly beating the next generation. So he would have gone all the way from Wlad to Dubois if he achieved that. His best wins now are Wlad, Wilder and Chisora but that isn't enough, the depth of the wins are important, after those 3 wins his quality level really drops off, he needs to phatten it up. He's close to it so would be madness to me to pack in it, when he only really had to have around 4 fights to achieve something very special. I think Tyson is considering it a bit but I think he'll take at least 1-2 more fights. I think his brother wants him to do the AJ fight at least.

Wilder gotta kill him out the ring :francis:

This man went to Deontays home country twice, took his hardest punches even in the 12th and still got up and started beating on him after coming off heavy drug use and depression

Then prefight he blowing kisses and mocking him and his wife with a goofy cac next to him :hhh: he damn near kill him in the ring, bust his eardrum, leaking everyone on his face, licking his blood, stopping him and then singing a fukking song with US citizens joining him:francis:

this was as thorough a beatdown as possible. Wilder doin too much in prefight with the talking and antics. Learn to box nikka SMH:unimpressed:

I dont know why but this summary has me :dead:

Exactly. I'm down on Wilder but let's be real....none of these mafukkas aren't without flaws and all can be slumped or beaten. People forgetting that Fury was NOT impressive against Wallin. Wilder may never be able to change his stripes or evolve his style, but he and his team GOTTA just maxamize what he does best and work on that.

It's always been there but as someone pointed out, these heavyweights aren't as skilled or elusive as Fury. Kownacki, Big Baby, Whyte, etc will have to outslug Deontay cause they aren't shifty so just about whoever he fights outside of Fury, Usyk, and to a degree AJ...will have to still feel that right at some point.

Not to be the white uk guy out here trying to tell you how to think but...Some of you need to step back and realise the view point you've been looking at this fight with is one created by the echo chamber you exist in, on here, social media etc. The race aspect of this fight is bizarre to me because as someone who naturally mostly seen UK build up, race was just an absolute non-factor. Yes we still have widespread institutional racism as well as some blatant racism here, no doubt, our prime minister is a racist for god sake, but in terms of boxing generally and this fight, it's just not even a consideration anyone even made or thought to articulate.

So seeing here, things like whitlock bringing it up to fury on TV, us based boxing youtubers mentioning it, it takes you aback, just as it did Fury on tv when whitlock asked him. Now look i won't insult you by pretending to understand every nuance of racism in the us and certainly won't claim to fully understand the experience of it(just class hate for me mostly thaknfully). and i just want you to all know that this is only the black guy losing to the white guy for you, in the UK this is a brit beating an american, just as it would have been had Joshua went to the US and beat Wilder.

UK boxing itself is too big and too independent now to attach itself to american narratives so any 'great white hope' stuff is purely american and honestly white americans who celebrate fury's win from that aspect need to kill themselves. This is a UK W not a white W.

You are that white guy. And let's not act UK do not got it's own racist problems against Blacks and Africans to this day. This where you fukk up you using AJ as your But I got a Black Friend card and UK just as racist to Blacks as America
