Ward should come down to 160 if you're talking about GGG/Ward

GGG is the bigger attraction and the one that generates money.

GGG fought in front of 900 in Monte Carlo for a special occasion, Ward would draw 900 max anywhere in the USA

I agree... triple g is the a side.

You're right because he's fighting in a divison jammed with talent? Counter puncher with power and without a shaky chin is a hard fight for GGG. Who's the hardest puncher he's faced Stevens right?
yes, stevens is probably the hardest puncher he has faced, but martin is more indicative of what he would face after gaining weight, and he handled it well in spite of some defensive flaws. he kept the bigger man walking backward all night and finished him. i dont believe GGG can beat the top 2 super middles, but he certainly would be in the mix and deservingly so.

Golovkin is a beast, but can we agree he should fight a stronger/more quality opponent?

murray is a world class, very game fighter.

iono who u bruhs expect.

GGG going thru the same thing floyd goes thru, where ppl quesiton the quality of the opponent due to the thorough destruction they dish out.

who would u personally prefer GGG fights at this point? ward, cotto, jr, kid chocolate?

They say GGG doesn't lift

alotta boxers dont lift.

lifting makes u bulky, and adds muscle weight, which can potentially bump u up a weight class when u dont want. also more muscles = gas faster, because ur muscles constantly need oxygen to maintain.

Lies

fighters lift but they don't lift heavy

tons of fighters have strength and conditioning coaches.

What in the wild fukk? Nobody said Murray's a pushover, he isn't a known power puncher though. Same for geale macklin etc.
You're comparing Floyd fighting dudes like Maidana, Guerrero Ortiz to GGG fighting Geale Murray Stevens?

maidana, guerrero, ortiz

:mjlol:

ur jokin right?

and reading quick thru this thread, dudes was knockin on murray like hes a pushover.

GGG fought other "power" punchers like stevens. GGG can easily outbox pure punches. dudes that i think will really cause him trouble are taller rangier fighters that can outbox him from the outside, and jus stay out of range. Ward likely being the one to win a 12 rounder. who knows.

the reason GGG left himself open is because he had no respect for Murray's power. he was content trading.

rewatch the fight and notice the only combinations murray lands are short inside shots (outside of a few good solid body hooks in the first few rounds). Murray only did these quick pitter patter inside shots cause he was scared to open up.

also, GGG is probably the best balance/timing in the division outside of ward. hes almost NEVER off balance. rewatch da fight bruh. its a sweet science the way GGG fights.

that being said, yea he got hit lit up a lot by murray this fight. but not a single shot even deterred him, showing either his chin, or murray's weakness. i think if anything, this shows how good murray is (couldve been undefeated up to this point), rather than GGG"s weakness.

murrays a solid world class fighter, and he got thoroughly worked up. iono what ppl expect.
I agree with this and thought they did a good job commentating on this aspect. The first part of the fight GGG was getting beat with some quick, but non power punches as he kept his offense more basic. The second half of the fight GGG basically focused less on his defense and took punches he knew wouldn't hurt him to go for the KO. GGG was blatantly walking in not giving a fukk, trying to get Murray out of there. Murray looked like the bigger fighter, but GGG had no issues inside or pushing him back.

Like Steve Kim and Doug Fischer said in my opening page video...if you have to name Ward (#2 PFP and at 168) as the one fighter you think can beat GGG, then you already think GGG is pretty good. :jawalrus:

I see the #SonsOfGolovkin out again in full force in another #GoodBoys celebration doing their best, as always, to make sure a GGG thread does numbers as slowly more and more neutrals realize being a #GoodBoy is the only way to live :blessed:

I look forward to being a welcome participant in the next Andre Ward fight, as he is after all

The Olympic Gold Medal Winning :salute:
#2 P4P :bander-wait http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/...e-ward-stripped-of-title-dropped-from-ratings

Ward’s last fight was against Edwin Rodriguez on Nov. 16, 2013 – 15 months ago. That means he’s still inside the 18-month grace period. However, there is also this line in the RING championship policy under the section “… here are the six situations in which a champion may lose his belt:”

  1. The Champion does not schedule a fight with a Top-5 contender from any weight class for two years.
Ward’s last Top-5 opponent was Chad Dawson on Sept. 8, 2012, nearly 2½ years ago. Under the rules he should’ve been stripped six months ago. But Ward’s situation has been unique: injury and legal issues have kept him dormant. To be clear, THE RING does not believe the latter issues were entirely beyond his control.
Something further to consider is that even if Ward schedules a fight today – according to veteran boxing writer Michael Woods the Californian’s adviser James Prince says there’s a chance that he could return on a Roc Nation-promoted card in April – it would most likely be another year before he got into the ring with another Top-10 guy, much less Top 5.
Three and a half years without facing a single Top 10 opponent :lupe: But what ever does this all mean? :damn:

Ward has been dropped from the Pound-for-Pound rankings. Undefeated WBA middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin, who is rated No. 1 at 160 pounds, will enter at No. 10.

Well, oh dear, oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Boys, I'm afraid....something HAS been done about it. :wow:

How was the fight last night? I went to a SoJa concert instead of staying home.
Murray landed well in spurts, especially to the body, but after a big let hook at the end of the third (and then the body shot knockdown in the fourth), GGG just walked him down and beat him up all night. Murray's heart is next level, though.
