i wouldnt say a haney fight doesnt do anything for him..he beats maybe even knocks out haney...oscar has a canelo part 2 for a draw

id rather see him take on his fellow prospects/contenders than the jobbers or jobbers to the stars
I don’t think he has to move like Canelo because he already comes in with a fan base in his pocket.A fan base that would normally not give a fukk about boxing . If he continues on this path and gathers some notable wins the Mexican American/Mexican Fan base will explode and Oscar will print money

Haney does something as far as boxing heads go but as far as the mainstream? Relatively nothing .Haney doesn’t have a presence out here .Hes too big of a risk

If you’re gonna take a risk like that just go chase Tank or hell,Loma.

More money,More exposure and the same respect for getting a W over an established presence

if he loses it’s a :yeshrug: he wasn’t ready yet a la Canelo vs Floyd

a loss to Haney is far more damaging

So, Ryan, you watched Sugar Ray Robinson right before coming out and emulating his hook counter? But will that work against ELITE competition.

People will get annoyed if he keeps fighting fluffs, growing fanbase or not. He can afford to lose early in his counter from a real challenge because you can always go back for the rematch down the line since he's just barely drinking age.

Haney best end up an ATG or at least close to it to keep talking about a legend that way.

And if for whatever reason the ugly face of boxing politics rears this ugly hair like it usually does, I hope Haney has a plan B and Ci as there are other qualified fighters
