Wrestling has always had a "shared universe". WWE is the only exception to this but even that's not accurate at all as they had a relationship with the NWA in the 70s and early 80s, a relationship with New Japan in the 70s through mid 80s, worked with both SWS and WAR in the 90s, worked with Michinoku Pro in the 90s, AAA in the 90s, ECW and SMW in the 90s, and would acknowledge other companies' histories even in their most isolationist periods (the late 80s to mid 90s) if they thought it benefited a storyline or talent. Intercompany and interpromotional angles and talent sharing is the norm in wrestling since the 50s, come on dude. Lmao.
