that was not the problem and you known it. this show was on a Friday night when it debut, half of their audience is not home to watch kato whip ass. batman was on a better time of the week. are you going to tell me that most of the batman episodes were not boring?

Nah homie cbs built their whole prime time lineup on Friday night. Friday then wasn't like Friday now
Green Hornet being a more serious show wasn't its problem...it being a boring show was. It had all the ingredients to be great but it handcuffed itself by barely focusing on the things that worked and that people wanted to see.
Instead it was like an old school cop show with 2 guys in masks.
They didn't even play with the Green Hornet masquerading as a bad guy thing as well as they could have and lets not even get started with how poorly they used Bruce Lee.
I so disagree breh. Although you're right about them barely touching the double role, it wasn't boring

green hornet whole character was about infiltrate and dismantling whatever this criminal were doing out here on the street. as a black man, i can relate to that concept in reference to to this racist society. gh was the negotiator, kato was the partner, bodyguard, enforcer, love it. all of you should check out the show on you tube, come back and devote your love to this show.

What does the timeslot have to do with the quality of the show?:what:
And no those Batman episodes were campy and goofy but they were definitely not boring. Batman knew exactly what kid of show it was and never wavered from it.
Green Hornet was in a constant state of backstage turmoil and as a result the show never really had a concrete and consistent tone other than overly serious and too often boring as hell.

in the 60's they had no concept of when to put on a good show where people would be home to watch. if the green hornet was place right after batman, there would have been more episodes. Friday night is not a good night to premiere a show like that. the action on the green hornet was better, the gadgets were better,

Like @MartyMcFly said...back in the day Friday was a prime TV spot (so was Saturday), you can't look at the scheduling back then with the same mindset of TV nowadays.
The Green Hornet was on at the same time as other networks scheduled popular shows like The Wild Wild West and Tarzan. And The Green Hornet actually won against those shows when it first aired but after its premiere the ratings began to slide and continued sliding every week it aired.

Breh. All in the family was on Saturday nights and it's one of the biggest hits in tv history. They had a perfect idea of when people were home and what they were watching. You're placing our values and patterns on people from 40 years ago. The world was a lot different especially on tv
