Wow, smh...Them african nigggas hold all the cards and are still getting bent over in the grand scheme of things. U can blame the white man if u want but I blame the africans on this 1. No reason to be sitting on that many resources without making your own rules.

Number 1 they should be finding ways learn how to use those resources to make and sell products independently. If that happened then they could corner the market, keep it in Africa, and charge whatever the hell they wanted for the products that were being manufactured. I could go on and on but I don't feel like typing a bunch of shyt about crap that doesn't concern me.

Do you know how much leverage the Congo could have on the west if they made certain demands on cobalt purchasing.

Cell phones, PlayStation, and many other types of material the West depends on after could be held hostage until Western powers abide by whatever standards are rules the Congo puts forth.

89 percent of all cobalt in the world is located in the Congo. That that leaves the Congolese with lots of leverage over the West.

just like Saudi Arabia controls the oil flow to the Americas and they used that wants to build up their country.

Most of Africa is nothing more than a corporate entity. If you want to know how the British took over "India" just study up on the East India Company. You don't need to go through military warfare to take over country. A country can be conquered through economic warfare.

I can't agree with this since there are a numerous amount of countries in Afrika that are self-reliant and own the majority of large factories/companies and other financial entities related to their national economy.

Supporters of Colonialism and Capitalism seem to hide from this thread.

:dahell: There's people that support colonialism on here?

:youngsabo:Avoiding? Nope, just watching you guys gloss over the real problem.

U.S. military-trained leaders of Rwanda and Uganda invaded the mineral-rich areas of the Congo. The invaders installed illegal colonial-style governments which continue to receive millions of dollars in arms and military training from the United States. Our government and a $5 million Citibank loan maintains the rebel presence in the Congo. Their control of mineral rich areas allows western corporations, such as American Mineral Fields, to illegally mine. Rwandan and Ugandan control over this area is beneficial for both governments and for the corporations that continue to exploit the Congo’s natural wealth.
:mjpls:

Oh, and this gem...

The power sharing agreement emerging from Sun City has effectively marginalized civil society groups who have been organizing peacefully for democracy, and instead rewards armed struggle in the country. Meanwhile, Rwanda and Uganda continue to attract international investors as well as military assistance from the U.S. and others. Thousands of Rwandan troops are currently engaged fighting in the eastern region of the country at the continued expense of civilian lives.

At this point I just have to accept that corporations are going to be the fall guys for all of our govt's missteps/evils. :manny:

:leon: I stand corrected.

Its not worth debating really, govt lays the ground work, and the private sector moves in and does what the private sector does.

U.S. is a Federal Corporation. Banks lay the finances out ,Corporations lay out the ground work, governments lay out the rules, regulations and laws. Fascism homie...
