It's a Native American/First Nations account of dealing with settlers. Natives got framed for killing yte people, and also got some of their kids kidnapped.
They were being peaceful at first and considered them their yte brothers, but the unfairness became too much, then it leads into warring with the red hair tribe(could be giants, havn't finished it yet)
