if the Dems win the senate do you guys expect them to hold up any supreme court picks in trump's final two years? it's starting to feel like he's going to serve his full four years.
@FAH1223
@tru_m.a.c @88m3 @Call Me James shouldn't this be more of a rallying cry for the Dems? win the senate, block an ultra-conservative court. trump has no concept of a balanced court (ex: Obama selecting Garland), he's going to pick someone loyal to him and to the right of Garland.
They should. After this recent string of rulings it should be a rallying cry and something Dem leadership is pushing from the top down and senate candidates bring up as part of their platform.
If you want to move the country forward its important to have a liberal and forward thinking judicial system.
Dems overestimate the IQ of voters. Instead of planning as if everyone is dumb
Yes, they do. The problem is a lot of dems are more educated and those who seem to be active are as well.
But the message isn't dumbed down enough.
Actually, yes it would have. Not bringing a vote was unprecedented. Also, Obama could have had a recess appointment. They just chose not to because they figured Hillary would win.
No, there really wasn't a reasonable time to do it for scotus. Republicans did not recess until it was over. As such he really only could have done it in the time between the session adjourned and the next congress was sworn in. So a matter on seconds at best and it still would have been challenged.
I think it's better to focus on the larger issue here, but saying obama didn't do enough because he wasn't attempting to subvert the constitution is
