Well sending troops down there with no plan was just optics wasn't it? Everyone was asking "what are they doing down there?" I saw them hanging some wire and just general bullshyt that anyone could do.
This entire thing was about the midterms. It was a desperation move by Trump. He's a very dishonest person while appearing to some to be straightforward, but the most telling thing was when he started making excuses about the midterms about a month ago.. he rarely ever concedes on anything but someone must have got in his ear and said "look, we're fukked on the house." Then someone else must have explained to him what it is the house can actually do (i.e. investigative power).

some of those blue counties in hampshire county have very very high student populations because of colleges in amherst, northampton, they got the five college consortium. im less familiar with the politics of farmers out west but i would be cautious about attributing democratic success in those towns to the impact of farmers.
