Bernie is giving them mad props. You know he campaigned for Gillum in FL last week.
I know, he spoke highly of both but his the democrats who lost, lost because they weren't progressive enough. I don't agree with that.

And the progressive ideals is what made me initially want to vote for Bernie.

I didn't know Gillum or Adams were running for Senate......

Clearly he's talking about Heitkamp et al
Donnelly and Claire. What so expect him to say? They were out there saying we are not reliable Dems and got cooked. As for Bernie he knows these people hate being called racist more than racism itself.

Context matters. Title is click-baity and somewhat misleading. I read the article and Bernie actually points out Gillum and Abrams actually motivated people to vote. He's not lying when he said White people voted for neither due to their skin color.

Beto was also added to the mix because he also drew people out and juxtaposed with other milquetoast candidates who lost their races by alot.

Of course that's wrong. I'm tired of hearing Berniebros say shyt like that.

Conor Lamb is not "progressive" and he spanked his opponent. There is not a "one size fits all" thing for these races. But do I believe that Gillum would have won if he were "more progressive", fukk no. I would attribute his loss to race but Nelson didn't get many more votes than him. He was likely too progressive, Florida is a right leaning state and Gillum and Nelson are both anti gun. Parkland did not make guns any less popular in this country.

I think that mixed feelings comes from Gillum, Abrams and Beto going down. We put a lot of emotion into those races. But I will take a Democratic House if it means Trump can't pass any laws moving forward.
:hubie: I was never on the Beto train. He was cool and all. His approach to campaigning put a lot of these Senators to shame (if you're not ready to hit all your states counties and talk to the people like Beto I can't fukk with you). However he endorsed a gimmick for NY AG in Patrick Maloney who only showed up last minute to play spoiler against Zephyr Teachout. Maloney had no business in the race. Beto does not know NY. But he stuck his nose where it ain't belong and played politics. Someone who was serious about change would know better.

It's a she and Torres beat out the Yvette Herell, the native american running as a republican. Happy for the dem win.

Someone corrected me earlier when I confused Yvette as the dem in this race. But yes NOW all 3 of New Mexico's congressional districts are held by democrats.

So if anyone gives you that border shyt, just point them to NM and ask them what's the difference between the way their members handle border issues and the way AZ and TX officials do. :mjpls:

By the way, here are the 2 other congressional leaders:
Michelle Lynn Lujan Grisham (/ˈluːhɑːn ˈɡrɪʃəm/; born October 24, 1959) is an American lawyer and politician who serves in the United States House of Representatives since 2013 and is the Governor-elect of New Mexico. She is a member of the Democratic Party. On November 6, 2018, she became the first Democratic woman elected as governor for New Mexico, as well as the first Democratic Latina elected governor in United States history, after winning the gubernatorial race against Republican U.S. Representative Steve Pearce.

Ben Ray Luján (/ˈluːhɑːn/;[1] born June 7, 1972) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Mexico's 3rd congressional district since 2009. The district is based in Santa Fe, the state capital, and includes most of the northern portion of the state. A member of the Democratic Party, Luján previously served as a member of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission from 2005 to 2008. He was elected to be Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on November 18, 2014, taking office on January 3, 2015. Luján has supported increased funding for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Indian Health Service.[11] He opposed the Stop the War on Coal Act of 2012 and was in favor of preserving sacred Native American ground.[13] Luján worked to create legislation enabling tribes to directly request disaster assistance from the president.[14]Luján's district contains 15 separate Pueblo tribes as well as tribal lands of the Jicarilla Apache Nation and Navajo Nation.[15] In February 2009, Luján introduced a series of five water accessibility bills that, along with improving access to water for the many communities in the district, would also give federal funds to Indian tribes. Along with Harry Teague (D-NM) and Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ), Luján sponsored an amendment to the House health care bill that would extend the current Indian Health Care system until 2025. Tribal governments were major donors to his 2012 re-election campaign.

First congrats to the sister .

Secondly, I'm glad to be wrong on gender .:shaq:
