I live in Jim Costas district. Separated by the freeway.
A lot of these races highlight how Democrats are the party of the cities and suburbs, GOP is the party of the rural areas. To be more competitive Dems need to start listening to what rural voters want and how they can cater to them. We're losing way too many great candidates because of these rural voters.
You can't reason with those rural voters. Medicaid for all should be a huge issue for them but they voted for Republicans who dismantled ACA in droves.
They should hate education funding getting cut all the time by Republicans because their children have no chance to make anything of themselves, but they vote for Republicans in droves.
Trump's tariffs are fukking with jobs left and right including small farms...you get the point.
Dems just need to energize their base to come out and vote. Run campaigns based on liberal policies and people will show up to vote. Cities make up the bulk of almost any given state's population. If those people show up to vote, they have the numbers to overwhelm the rural vote.
