Here is the problem with going against cruz...

1. You can't talk economy. Texas economy is pretty much top 4 in every metric and outright number 1 in a lot of metrics. So Beto couldn't talk about making the economy better because for the average person in Texas they are already doing pretty good.

2. Can't talk immigration. White people and White hispanics...who are....well...just white people...want "illegal" immigrants out...can't win that argument unless you going to go the "build the wall" route...

Cruz is just lucky enough to run a state that pretty much runs itself...their just isn't a real pressing issue in Texas to make people want to change...
