What are you talking about? The biggest problem with political commentary is people find ways to make things fit whatever narrative they want. You seem like a guy who was so sure that progressives could not win that any sign of a progressive loss would be used as "proof." Florida has Republicans in every single statewide position but one Senator seat. Everyone before Gillum was a centrist, what are you talking about? McCaskill and Donnelly--two corporate Dems--just lost. There is "0" evidence that this is an indictment on the progressive movement.
