Why do dems and the political media assume that (young) latinos are going to come out in full force?

Seems like the same song and dance every election cycle.

Democrats speak against policies that negatively affect their demographic.

The thing is, a lot of them come from countries that don’t align with American politics so if their parents are their biggest influence they won’t align with Dems or Republicans.

On top of that until Trump got elected there was no major push against them. I honestly think a lot of Latinos were just going to wait out the Republicans then slowly do what the Cubans did in Florida.

Or, one of the biggest voter suppression techniques is ICE. What do you think happens to an immigrant community that becomes increasingly politically active? That and I believe I put the stat up a page ago, but 90% of latin kids under the age of 18 are American citizens.

Its more so about latinos in competitive electorates in general. Aside from Nevada it never lives up to the hype that latinos are going to come through for dems and they're scratching there head why.
