I would’ve thought so but unfortunately that’s not the case here. One of the failures thus far in FL is in getting all of the new Puerto Rican’s informed and registered. Desantis and Gov. Scott has been doing a good job of appearing to give a fuk and the Dems are polling wayyy below with that community than where they need to be.

Florida's Puerto Ricans are falling for Rick Scott over Bill Nelson in Senate race, poll says
Thanks for the link b. The last article really breaks things down nicely. I wouldn't be too concerned though. 57% of the Puerto Ricans polled said they were Democrats. I would argue that the reason 75% approval rating while Nelson has 62% approval is that Nelson probably hasn't really attacked Scott. I'd also argue that the 26% disapproval rate is probably caused by disgruntled democratic loyalist who'd like to see Nelson get more active and direct on the campaign trail.

Regardless though, how Gillium polls will determine this race. The idea that democrats are going to head to the polls and vote for Gillium in large numbers, but flip to Scott defies logic. Most voters are straight ticket voters.

I'm more concerned about the type of propaganda coming from Republican Puerto Ricans in the Florida government.

Also can you explain this paragraph to me. The numbers in this are just :dwillhuh:

  • Close to 73 percent of Puerto Ricans polls moved to Florida before 2011, nearly 28 percent from 2012 to 2014, nearly 24 percent in 2015 and 2016 and nearly 26 percent since 2017.

That paragraph u quoted is probably a typo. Should say AFTER 2011.

The problem is that we need to kill it with the Hispanic vote and all reports I’ve read suggest we’re tsking it for granted that this new influx will reflexively vote Dem.

breh i don't believe a word this chick says. shady as fuk.
Yea cuz folks running for State Senate routinely get this level of scrutiny, get outed as victims of sexual assault and have to deal with this level of smearing.

Running against a state Senator beholden to real estate and being openly pro BDS. What a surprise.

All of this does is prove that those on the left have to be vigilant and be unafraid to be clear and transparent about everything cuz the vultures will be out. Yes. She could've been clearer about her past. She didn't run from it but I think not naturally being an outspoken person and being shy made her a bit ill equipped early on but it's no surprise given the fact that she's new to this and the campaign only began this year.

The same folks looking at her past suspiciously will openly welcome some random Republican douchebag and dude like that Patrick Murphy dude in Florida.

The socialists that run in 2020 have to come with more clarity and know that the target will be on their backs way more than if they were Republicans.

These people simply can't be trusted. I feel ashamed for that district and what they have to put up with. That's such a low, disgusting, thing to do.

Edit: Ooooh boy :heh: Get a load of this:

Politico reports that Cuellar attended and invited his supporters to a fundraiser for Republican Rep. John Carter, who faces a vigorous challenge from Democrat MJ Hegar in Texas's 31st District. Hegar even has the support of the conservative Blue Dog Coalition, where Cuellar is a co-chair.

Sadly, this is far from out of character for Cuellar, who infamously backed George W. Bush in 2000 and is the extremely rare Democrat who has been endorsed by the radical anti-tax Club for Growth. This year alone, Cuellar was the one Democratwho held off on signing a discharge petition to force a vote on a bill to protect Dreamers until the very last day to do so.According to Fivethirtyeight, Cuellar also votes with Donald Trump more than any Democrat in either chamber of Congress. Cuellar represents a Laredo-area seat that went from 60-39 Obama to 58-38 Clinton, so he hardly needs to act like this in order to get re-elected.

Unfortunately, Cuellar has not faced a serious primary challenge in a very, very long time. In fact, 2016 was the only time over the last decade that he faced any primary challenge whatsoever, and he won 90-10. Hopefully, 2020 will be very different.
