Good movie - yes

Great movie - maybe

Classic - Nope

What i liked about this movie was that it told a Vietnam story and the aftermath of it from a black perspective, which is rarely if ever been done before.
But seriously, fukk a bar of soap and come clean here guys, The soundtrack to this movie is classic and prolly made alot of us watch this movie simply based off the soundtrack. :salute:

Yes the soundtrack was a huge part of the movie. Being born in 1980, most of the songs came before my era but I do remember my parents playing a lot of them growing up cause they were from that time. The Issac Hayes song "Walk On By" which he covered but flipped the beat was on of my favorites cause Biggie sampled it on "Warning". It was cool cause he made a modern day video and had Chris Tucker and Larenz Tate in it so that helped connect it to my generation. But the movie was still great. The Reviews were mixed cause again it was true that at the time a lot of critics hated on Black films even if they were good or not. SMH @ "Dead Presidents" having a 45% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, I can't take that review seriously.

The only reason "Boyz in the Hood" and "Menace" got good reviews cause they couldn't hate on them cause they were different and 1st in hollywood. But notice both "Dead Presidents" and "Poetic Justice" both got average reviews. They were the 2nd films of John Singleton and the Hughes Brothers. Mind you in the black community both films are Classic. But there's no denying Both soundtracks were Epic. They were both basically "Best of the 60's and 70's" Soundtrack. They did an amazing job putting the track list together. This song I bumped for days by Barry White:

It's already known as a classic.

Dead Presidents is better than Boyz N The Hood, Juice, and Menace as well by the way.

Greatest film of that generation.
:whoa:You getting a little carried away.

Anyways its a classic. One of the saddest movies ever.

:sadcam: at that dude who got his own dikk stuffed in his mouth by the Vietcong.
