"So, will all you guys who say "the WWF will go under" please explain
yourselves? The WWF is in FAR better shape that it was in, say, 1993-1995.
No-one said it was going under then. As long as people buy tickets and they
make money, the WWF will remain alive and well, just a little embarrassed
by those "other guys down south"

It's interesting to see people complain about the product that point in time considering how romanticized it has become in recent years.

people complained during the peak years too, just gotta do some digging

IWC was truly never satisfied

I'm glad those two finally put it behind them, to be honest I didn't know what to believe until Vince gave that interview with JR.

I had to hear about what Shawn did to Bulldog (basically the prelude to Montreal) at school so I was determined to get this live. My mom came back from work a little after the match started and nearly whopped my ass to death for ordering the PPV w/o asking her. After it was over I sat down and tried to watch the match but I was too busy :sadcam: on the couch. My mom was eating watching the match (:rudy: in hindsight) when Earl called for the bell.

Mom: :dwillhuh: :sheit: :fire: (She knew exactly what happened and Bret's her all time fav)
Me: :gladbron: :wtf: :merchant: (I didn't know but even I saw that Bret didn't tap, I asked her but she wasn't listening)

We watched Bret go ham in silence.

Survivor Series 1997. I feel bad about this PPV for what happened obviously but also that Bret's career pretty much ended that night (that WCW run was trash) and more or less became the defining moment of his career.

I think you're right. *You can bet one way or the other and hope you
gain "bragging rights" but the bottom line is no one here knows for sure
whether this was a work or an angle or what really happened. *But we do
have every theory and one must be right. *Unfortunatly, we won't know
until Monday. *Until then, we'll just get posts of "its a work!" or
"bret was screwed." *After monday these posts will be changed into "I
told you so!" and "You fell for it!" *Personally I have no idea whether
it's a work or for real and going to keep my mouth shut.

ITS A fukkIN WORK!!! :damn:

I think the reason they ended quick was because McMahon spent waaaaay
too much time with post and pre-match interviews with Road Dog and BA,
and the match they had. *They had to cut something, somewhere. *And, I
stand behind McMahon's decision. *Who cares about whinning bert hart and
that little "Road Dog" wanna-be Shawn "Scrawn" Michaels?

To paraphrase Patrick Henry(?), "Give me Road Dog.. or give me death!"

McMahon knows what he is doing. *Sure, NOW you might be crying over the
"ruined" so-called main event. *History will show that the REAL main
event was the match with Road Dog in it, where he and BA were the sole
survivors (yes, both of them were sole survivors.. cool, eh?). *McMahon
is looking ahead to the future. *He knows what the fans want, and he is
giving it to them.

Road dogg = THE FUTURE :ohhh:

"I knew it was a shoot to begin with. People here are claiming that Vince
is a long term thinker, He is a smart businessman, he ain't stupid, well
just watch the WWF begin to crumble over the next few months.
The Signs
began a year ago with that Austin-Pillman Gun Angle and has continued on
until now. The WWF has been a downward spiral. Mcmahon has already
digged the grave, It's time to bury the remains.

Those were good matches but you could tell he was outta place there. It was similar to Orton now, just floating in the upper midcard and worked over again by another wrestling politician in Hogan.

Same thing with 90s rap, I see people praising death row records(not a bad label might be my favorite),but I still remember all the hate the purists had for it back in the day. Gotta tell people its a generation thing and people will always complain. People are complaining about rap teh same way they were back then, hell people even stan for the early 2000s ja rule, casio 3 second beat raps.
