That was someones child that they brought to the park. I took my kids to that park not too long ago and I can only imagine that being my son since he is of similar age.
Sad to say my family would likely be ruined I'd definitely catch a case that night.

I would have been acting like I was having a mental break then sue for emotional distress.
i used to work at an amusement park when i was younger. people use to try to do little goofy shyt and keep their restraints and seatbelts loose because "it's too tight". I used to push the shyt all the fukkin way in on people so shyt like this wouldn't happen. I'm not saying that's what happened here, because obviously things fail, people fail, maintenance fails, but yeah there are riders out there that try to keep their restaint loose like idiots. doing little shyt like leaning forward during the pre-ride check.HOW CAN HE UNFASTEN IT HIMSELF?
