Gage shared a video of the 14-year-old getting jumped and punched in a school bathroom in late August. He said school officials and the teen's mom met after the incident.

"They don't care," she said. "They didn't do nothing to the other kid and that's what I'm most upset about. They just sat there and id nothing.

Attorneys for the 14-year-old said there are very few African American students at Verdugo Hills. They added that almost from the first day of class in August, the boy was targeted by Latino students who called him racial slurs, physically attacked him and threatened to stab him.

"The school wanted to force my child out right after the incident of him being jumped in the bathroom," the boy's mother said. "They wanted him to leave the school without giving any disciplinary action towards the students who caused the problem itself. They didn't do anything, so I said no. My son is going to stay here, he's doing well."

I wouldn't even be surprised if this were the case. There's no excuse for not doing anything to them, especially when it's captured on camera. It sounds like the school administration wants a school with no AA students, but they know they can't push that as official policy, so they look the other way when Black students are harassed and beaten, hoping it gets so bad they choose to leave on their own.

I’m not understanding why this didn’t accelerate an alliance amongst the blacks out there. How can you have a hostile population that large and in proximity, without forming up to resist them? There’s no excuse for this. If you can’t organize in the face of an obvious threat that speaks loudly on the weakness of the community.

I’m not understanding why this didn’t accelerate an alliance amongst the blacks out there. How can you have a hostile population that large and in proximity, without forming up to resist them? Being that theres was only 2% black kids in the school she probably didn't even live in a black community. Also the mother has been combating the school since her son was first jumped in August. They just ignored her.

Maybe she is a person who believes that her kid should be able to "go to whatever school" i honestly don't know. She probably didn't wanna fold because she paid her money for her son to go there. Again I dont know.

But to blindly blame "the community" when you don't know one exists isn't a good look. If anything its the mothers fault for being stubborn and not removing her child and perusing a lawsuit from the very first incident since it included her son getting jumped on camera and called the N word in august. The fact that the same kids were able to come to the neighborhood and tag their house with racial slurs leans towards them living in an area where they aren't wanted
