A win this week by either Moxley or Swerve would eliminate Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal from advancing.

Surprised they didn't save the Cope vs Christian match for a ppv. I know it's Canada but did it even sell the building out?
If you think it’s a match that can sell tickets, and you have a PPV that isn’t having problem selling tickets, it would make more sense to put it on a TV taping.

Which is more important PPV buys or hotshotting tv? If it doesn't make a dent for the tv minus well saved it.

There's also TV ratings to consider, which at this point is more important than PPV buys or tickets since the next TV deal is going to produce more yearly revenue than tickets and PPV buys combined, most likely.

And just because a big match is on TV doesn't mean it's hotshotted. Christian and Copeland have been feuding for two months now.

This match is like 10 years in the making. If this doesn't sell out the building or do upwards of 900k in ratings then it was a waste. AEW doesn't have many money matches and with a proper build this might've helped the 185k PPV buys get to 200k. Hotshotting in rasslin is exactly this. Putting stuff people used to be conditioned to pay for on tv to help fledgling ratings. The ROI for this Cope run already in the dirt it seems.

Then everyone hotshots pretty regularly by this definition. Like WWE put Seth vs. Jey on Raw last night.
