Ryan Garcia will break new ground at an old Golden Boy Promotions preferred venue for his next fight.

A location was confirmed for Garcia’s upcoming junior welterweight clash versus Mexico’s Oscar Duarte. Their December 2 DAZN headliner will now land at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, as confirmed by Garcia and Golden Boy co-founder and Hall of Fame promoter Oscar De La Hoya.

The development comes days after it was previously revealed by De La Hoya that Alamodome was targeted to house the event, though it was subsequently learned that a deal was never finalized. Golden Boy was previously looking at locations throughout Texas as well as the greater Phoenix (Arizona) area for the show.

Garcia (23-1, 19KOs) has previously headlined shows in San Antonio and Dallas, the latter where he presently trains with Derrick James whose gym he joined earlier this year. This event will mark the first pro appearance in Houston for the 25-year-old Victorville, California native and first fight in general since his April 22 knockout loss to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (29-0, 27KOs) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Duarte (26-1-1, 21KOs) has spent his entire career evenly divided between California and his native Mexico. He has fought 14 times in California, including three of his last four starts amidst his current eleven-fight win streak. The 27-year-old Parral, Chihuahua native will fight for the first time in Texas and moves up in weight for a dream opportunity.

Undercard bouts have yet to be revealed for the show.

Unbeaten lightweight Floyd ‘Kid Austin’ Schofield was teased to land on the card, though the news tip came at a time when it was believed the event would take place in San Antonio. Houston’s own Marlen Esparza would be a logical choice to defend her lineal/WBC/WBA/WBO flyweight championship on the card, though it remains unclear whether she will be forced into a mandatory rematch versus former titlist Gabriela ‘La Chuky’ Alaniz, whom she edged in their July 8 unification bout in San Antonio.

Golden Boy has previously done frequent business in Houston but not since a January 2019 DAZN show headlined by then-WBO junior middleweight titlist Jaime Munguia at this very location. The last boxing event to take place at Toyota Center was in June 2019, headlined by locally-based two-division and reigning WBC middleweight titlist Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22KOs), who has not fought since that night.

Golden Boy has set down the undercard for the return of “King” Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs), who will face the dangerous knockout artist Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte (26-1-1, 21 KOs) in a super lightweight fight.
The fight night, presented in association with Cancun Boxing, will take place at Toyota Center on Saturday, December 2 in Houston, Texas and will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN as part of your subscription.
The co-main event features London’s Ohara “Two Tanks” Davies (25-2, 18 KOs) who will make his highly anticipated U.S. debut as a Golden Boy fighter against El Tigre, Venezuela’s Ismael Barroso (24-4-2, 22 KOs). The 12-round fight is for the WBA Super Lightweight Interim World Championship and is presented in association with TGB Promotions.
On the DAZN card, WBA Lightweight International Champion and rising star Floyd “Kid Austin'' Schofield (15-0, 11 KOs) of Austin, Texas, will defend his title against Tijuana, Mexico’s Ricardo “Explosivo” Torres (17-7-3, 12 KOs) in a 10-round fight presented in association with Davies Entertainment.
Also making his return is NABO Middleweight Champion Shane Mosley Jr. (20-4, 11 KOs) who will measure up against San Bernardino’s Joshua Conley (17-5-1, 11 KOs) in a 10-round fight. Mosley Jr. is coming in hot after an explosive fifth round knockout against D'Mitrius Ballard on the Munguia vs. Derevyanchenko card in June.
Opening the DAZN card, knockout prospect Darius Fulghum (8-0, 8 KOs) will perform in front of his hometown Houston crowd in an eight-round light heavyweight fight against Pachino “Chino” Hill (8-4-1, 6 KOs) of Davenport, Iowa. This fight will mark Fulghum’s sixth time this 2023 calendar year fighting.
Golden Boy Fight Night: Garcia vs. Duarte Prelims streamed on Golden Boy’s YouTube Channel will kick off the fight night. Former Mexican Olympian and bantamweight prospect Gael “El Terror” Cabrera (2-0, 1 KO) of Sonora, Mexico, will make his return in a four-round fight against Las Vegas, Nevada’s Alejandro Dominguez (2-0, 1 KO). Opening fight night for his brother and stablemate, the undefeated Sean Garcia (5-0, 2 KOs) of Victorville, California will participate in a four-round fight against a soon to be announced opponent.

Brolic... Alcoholics
So... Some shyt came up and I have to resale my tickets. The resale value for this card is crazy. But that's not the point of this point

I was going to take one of my young tenders who likes boxing. I told her last week that I wouldnt be able to make it because of family shyt. She suggest that I just GIVE the tickets to her. :dwillhuh:

I told her that I have no problem giving her her ticket but no way in hell she's gets both so she can be hugged up at the fight with her baby daddy or some shyt. :mjlol:

She says that she wouldn't do that to me and she was going to take her friend (who I'm actually tryna take down).

Yeah... No. I don't believe that shyt and I'm selling these muhfukkin tickets. Christmas is around the corner.
