Being in camp is a empty term, was in camp for a fight against Canelo?
You think he would be in camp not preparing for a fight that's literally one phone call away?:dwillhuh:......it's not like he had a fight signed with somebody else then had to switch at the last minute. The canelo fight was always number 1 for Callum. He even said he's got too much pride in being a champion to take a fight he wasn't ready for. The dude is a real fighter. He's not here for any excuses :yeshrug:

Yeah, this means nothing to me, I'm not about to entertain the silly thought he was spending thousands on a potential canelo fight when canelo was going thru litigation :mjlol:. He wasn't in camp for a canelo fight he clearly has pride which is fine pride gets the best of a lot of fighters. I'd like to see canelo next fight have normal 2-3 month camp turn around is that too much to ask:dahell:?

You probably would have seen that this time were it not for COVID and Canelo's legal battle with Golden Boy :yeshrug:

Here's the thing I don't get about this criticism: while it's true that Smith did have a shortened training camp for this fight, so did Canelo. Surely they would both be at the same disadvantage, right?

Callum has already told you dudes to stop crying about a short camp. He also said canelo is having the same short camp so there's no excuses. Callum smith is the one getting in the ring and he's not entertaining any of that bullshyt. You seem so eager to make excuses for a guy who isn't looking for em.

Even caleb plant said he woulda been ready to fight canelo on the same date. But pbc shot it down. He said the only reason he wasn't ready last time was because he was just coming off another fight and wanted to rest. But he didn't mind fighting canelo this time because he was already in the gym. When these guys are in the gym they're ready for anything. Caleb plant is prolly already preparing for canelo every time he trains. Cause that's what you do when you're at the top. You get ready for the best guys in your division. None of these guys are looking for your excuses. Callum smith is ready :yeshrug:

Callum smith even said this SAME exact thing but people still wanna make excuses. Callum smith isn't hearing none of this bullshyt. They're both in the same exact situation. Next these coli conspiracy theorists gonna be telling us canelo staged all of his legal troubles and he's been training for smith since january. These dudes are sad:hhh:

He has a fight to sell doesn't mean I have to agree with him . I'm telling you what I feel , zero reason they couldn't have fought in January:manny:. I'm also saying this before the fight.

From the sounds of it canelo might wanna fight yildrim in February to get that mandatory out of the way. Then have a big fight in May. Once again. If Callum wasn't ready he wouldn't have taken it. They're both in the same situation regardless.

Yes, and Smith has said he's been training for months as well. So they've both been training for months, just not for each other. Still not seeing how this gives Canelo an unfair advantage.

I cant see any advantages that canelo is going to step into the ring with on paper . . . When the fight was announced the "advantages" canelo was apparently going to implement were:

1. "1 month camp only for CS, which will just be dropping weight" - Smith debunked that himself . .
2. "Canelo will install a catchweight" - No catchweight
3. "Rehydration clause" - Eddie Hearn said there's no such clause

That ginger midget stepping into the ring with a monster sized dude at this weight

Smith is just tall, he's not some monster of huge guy, his last fight he looked terrible and probably should've lost

Canelo picked him because is slow and cannot fight on the inside, Canelo is all upper body defense he has zero foot step, so he needs a stationary guy for his defense to be effective where you can slip punches, he will get inside and beat up Smith

On paper I said, Callum has all the advantages. I don't disagree with most of the rest of what you've said though. Callum movement is trash and will get caught easy when he throws the jab. In theory this should be an easy shutout for the dude with a 10 inch height and reach advantage (and does have power, in his prime and undefeated):leostare::mjgrin:

However, cannot agree with the guys diminishing Canelo for taking this fight :what:

Canelo diminishing himself, if he would've cleaned out 154 when he was down there nobody would be pressing him, he only fought GGG and Danny Jacobs who is passed it especially if look at last fight, I mean he could've fought Andrade, or Charlo, and did some big numbers, this fight helping his profile, he losing star appeal, there's zero buzz in the boxing world for this fight even youtubers can't getting that many views on the weigh ins and stuff like that compared to the fights last week and before
