Parker coming in significantly heavier this time. They are saying they want to be more aggressive. Hope so for the sake of the fight.

The fight stanks already

This is most likely gonna be a good event, don't wanna miss it. There's probably 4 fights on the bill where the result is in question and the others are more up and comers. The up and comers a few of them have knockouts in their repertoire so it should be entertaining and the tough fights should be stylistically interesting. Gongora vs Richards may be the pick fight of the card in terms of styles, Richards a slick boxer and Gongora with 15 stoppages out of 20 wins. Don't know if anyone bets but there's money to be made on the event too with the odds being so close if someone leans a particular way.

Brits will eat up anything:mjlol:

No-one should be complaining about this event as part of subscription, solid card with 4 on paper competitive closely matched fights along with some prospects. Would have been even better with Buatsi vs Vlasov but Buatsi got an injury, but that would have been fire. Regardless as part of subscription I'm looking forward to it, if it was PPV that would be different as could question it, but as a standard event it's dope as was PPV last time.

I guess y’all are just more die hard boxing fans and honestly that is good because an average boxer can be a household name over there. But ain’t no way Chisora and Parker should be headlining anything. Parker is middle of the road trash and Chisora is a hard working gate keeper with stamina issues. The Buatsi fight would have been a real fight tho so that is that.

Then with the Khan/Brook fight selling out is :mindblown:. The domestic fights are good for y’all fans tho but at the end of the day they ain’t good for the boxers I don’t think. It seems to be UK fighters are taking the most upsets nowadays. I guess I’m just not a fan of generic eurocacs with low KO% slugging it out for the EBU title.

I wouldn't get caught too much in the headline thing. When it's non PPV it doesn't really matter as much. It's more part of a package than THE package if you understand what I mean.

In regards to Parker and Chisora that's incorrect, Parker is a former world champion and Chisora has been competitive with some quality opposition. Parker is very highly ranked with some of the governing bodies, he's not far away from another title shot at all if he wins. Chisora will be, I don't think a win will get him a title shot even if he wins but just more big fights. Parker though could potentially face someone like Joyce after this for who gets the title shot first, already been talks going on there. Parker is number 2 with WBO right after Joyce, 3 with IBF, 4 with WBC, also 5th with The Ring Magazine. Your opinion on if he's trash is your opinion and allowed but it's not reflected in the rankings.

Parker has achieved more in the sport than Ortiz and Martin and they are headlining a PPV soon. This is within the subscription which pay anyway.

Parker vs Chisora isn't a domestic fight either. They aren't from the same country lol.

Maybe it's just you don't really know that much about many fighters, no disrespect intended. Gongora and Richards are both ranked fighters. Zelfa Barret is also ranked 3 with IBF, he's not far away at all from a world title shot if he wins, it could be him vs Cordina and the winner gets a title shot vs Ogawa.

You'll enjoy boxing more if you learn about a variety of fighters. There's a lot of fun and good fights and fighters out there, many of which you'll enjoy if you give it a chance. It's up to you though of course, no-one is putting a gun to your head to watch but I anticipate this being a good card. There's certain cards that are like 99 percent mismatches, the Top Rank card from earlier was pretty abysmal. I expect this one to be significantly better with the competitive nature of some of the fights on paper, got 4 fights where the outcome isn't certain and infact where the home fighter could conceivably lose. This is good for the fans if want to see real fights, and prior see some of the others such as Thompson build themself up who got a great knockout last time he was out. If the event lives up to it's potential it should be enjoyable for most that watch it, of course you never know till it's in the ring cause can disappoint but on paper should be a good card. It is more for the hardcore fans but I guess that's countered by Chisora being popular with the casuals in U.K too and Parker being well known after doing several high profile PPV's, the one with AJ in particular did huge numbers.

Pretty good response:ehh:

Parker is OK but he just dont move the needle for me far as entertainment or skills or anything. He isnt particular great at anything but he decent enough. He is the prototypical average HW in this era. Chisora reminds me of Derrick Lewis from UFC if u follow that. If you are a good heavyweight you dispatch of Chisora pretty easily. I give it to him tho, he a gatekeeper who refuse to keep the gate. Since Parker is not a prospect this matchup does nothing besides from entertainment factor and that is not much for me plus it just proves that Parker is on his way to gatekeeper status as well. I think Parker trash in the sense that I will call Danny Garcia trash or Callum Smith, of course they are top ten fighters but to me they are trash lol. Not in the literal since.

Ortiz and Martin get shytted on and rightfully so. Not heard a positive word about it but Ortiz/Martin > this fight. That fight atleast we will figure out of Ortiz still got it or has Martin got better.

I got hip to Gongora when he got the upset awhile back but you right i really dont know any names on the card:manny: seeing the responses in this thread and the main thread aint too many people hyped for this card. It could be some fades tho and honestly if i am up i will watch it because why not its boxing and im a fan. But most UK cards bore me to death with the length of the cards. Too much filler but i really dont see too many squash matches on here tho to be honest. So i prolly will check it out, at best ill be entertained and at worst i can continue to shyt on UK cards:lolbron:

I feel you on why, as entertainment specifically. He has been disappointing and underwhelming in certain fights. I just mean he’s been at a high level and been competitive and if he wins he’s not too far away again at all.

I wouldn’t agree with the Chisora assessment, I’d change it to if you are a great heavyweight you SHOULD beat Chisora. Chisora’s record is very deceiving. He’s got numerous controversial decision losses and he’s also fought some high level opposition, has fought way better fighters than Wilder for example. Some people thought he won the Usyk fight too, I personally had it as a draw. Definitely had him beating Helenius and had him winning the 1st fight vs Whyte too. Wlad actually pulled out a fight vs Chisora as Manny saw him at the workout and didn’t want it. He fought Vitalie instead. He is getting older now and won’t be able to put up the same level of resistance forever. Did have him winning the first Parker fight though.

Callum Smith is very good. I know he wasn’t at his best vs Canelo but he can really fight. At a more healthy Light Heavyweight he could be a lot better, his power will translate too. He was drained at Super Middleweight near the end.

Cool man, yeah hopefully it’s good. Will be hard to take another poor one after yesterday lol. Hopefully it delivers.
