Martin the best athlete of the crop of champions/contenders/prospects at 135, don't really see none of them matching his combination of feet and fast twitch. Not saying he's the best fighter but that athleticism stands out
Fomer football player i wanna say

Imagine getting your Ali cosplay on just to get schooled for 12 rounds :mjlol:

Props to Martin he proved he's a level above, Rivera couldn't do shyt with his southpaw game. He's quick and has solid footwork, throws nice combos, comfortable in the pocket too. He was the more technically skilled of the two. Martin still has guard issues imo, not that hard to tag but he makes up for it so it doesn't really bite him at this level of competition.

Idk why many ppl expected Rivera's game to keep Martin at bay.
Sure, he has the reach advantage but the guy usually just likes to bang in the pocket. He couldn't bang with Martin though, his skills, timing, defense, etc. all fell short of Martin's.

Is Marinez the better Dominican now between him and Rivera? :patrice: Late notice but still, he gave way more problems to Martin than Rivera until he got stopped. Throw in Elvis Rodriguez and make these guys fight each other, some fun fights, some extra stakes because all are from the same country, all 3 are PBC, so easy to make and whoever comes out at the top can go and fight Puello at 140.

He has a good balance, as for explosiveness he's not fukking with Tank or Ryan and for footwork not fukking with Haney, Loma and Shakur but if we're talking the combination of the two, yes, I see your point

Ain’t nobody trolling..I believe Frank to be a better fighter than Tank. Ain

Tank is protected and he about to fight another nice record 130lb guy at 135…

If Tank was really that guy he would fight top guys or fight for a belt. Plain and simple idk what hard to comprehend about it.

We talk shyt on Teo but atleast hebstepped up to the plate and fought good comp. We can’t say the same about Tank.

What guard issues? I'm not seeing that at all.

Hey may be talking about the little half shell he do with the low left that leave him open to that straight down the pipe.

But he got pretty decent footwork and counter punching to offset that flaw. Fake Ali had a terrible game plan tho so can’t really judge his defense too much off of this fight.

How does Martin match up against top contenders at 135?

- Tank Davis
- Haney
- Shakur Stevenson (when he eventually moves up)
- Ryan Garcia

Or should he fight someone like Rolly Romero first before facing top competition?
Probably outboxes Davis but a good chance he eventually gets caught

Haney by Ud

Shakur by Ud

Garcia by a close decision

He should be able to beat dudes like pitbull and rolly imo.

I feel Haney is on his way to 140 so let Frank get Pitbull out the paint, and then meet Shakur for a Vacant (assuming Tank goes to jail :francis: ), or Frank and Shakur clean up the vacant belts then unify.

He has faster and quicker feet than Shakur, Shakur has great footwork but he is flatfooted

"I like Frank Martin as a person, but he really doesn't have a personality at all you know, but he doesn't get in the way of anything you know"

Martin looked impressive, only negative I saw was the handful of times Rivera had his feet set up right that right hand got thru on Martin. Would like to see him against a top guy who can execute a game plan better than Rivera did
Either way 135-140 has potential to be straight heat the next couple years
