You can't compare TV storylines to wrestling. They're different in every way.
At the end of the day though, wrestling is basically just a weekly Rocky or Karate Kid where they flesh out the rest of the fighters.

My favourite flying nothing is when wrestle A is lying on his back on the mat. Wrestle B goes to the top rope, and jumps off, landing vertical. Wrestle A, while still laying flat on his back raises his 1 leg straight into the air. Wrestle B catches boot to the face.
What move was Wrestle B going to do? Flying tomahawk chop when other guy ison mat?

Watching the 2nd angle, the guy stands up and moves towards Sammy and still has space to superkick him in mid air, meaning that the shooting star press would have landed like 5ft short if he was still laying on the mat

That's a storyline from a prestige TV show. Wrestling ain't prestige TV like Watchmen or GOT but neither are some of the sitcoms, soap opers, and procedurals that have graced TV screens.
