That is where my issues with Cody stem from...this should've been a Cody vs Black match with all the stipulations and a flaming table ending but instead Cody blew off that feud (that had a pretty decent build) so that he could co-opt Andrade from Pac and then do a microwave feud that led to this match that really can't go anywhere now because what comes after putting someone through a flaming table?

I been calling dude manipulative because all he does is take shortcuts to compensate for the fact he’s not as likable or sympathetic as he thinks he is. It’s like a movie adding dramatic music to build up some sort of non existent tension or stakes to a scene. He figures that if he lights himself on fire, or bleeds, or cuts a fiery babyface promo that uses shortcuts or buzzwords he’ll get a reaction he wants. It’s all lazy and cheap and their fanbase especially sees right through it.

I think Cody is trying to be the Tommy Dreamer of aew

last time was the whipping and all these ultimate babyface beatings

but dreamer really was never a big deal no matter how many beatings he took

Dreamer also just did jobs to look legit. Cody just want to be Terry Funk without putting over wrestlers, not cutting memorable promos, doing dumb ass spots to get the smarks computers putin, and doing long winded NWA matches without a grown man storyline to seal the deal brother.
