The crime rate is the same as it pertains to the overall city. There are probably crime rate stats broken up into police precincts so they know where to concentrate more police presence. And Southside probably is worse than the rest of the city.

Where I used to work, there were certain areas that were worse than others. And a majority of the violent crime occurred in those areas. But the overall county's crime rate was not too bad. There's crime everywhere, good parts of town and bad parts of town. But violent crime occurs more often in poor parts of town, unfortunately. I've been to a couple scenes where shootings were involved. Not only that, most people in these lower-income areas and apartment complexes are good people. So you have like 3% of bad people doing 90% of the crime. The rest are just trying to get by and live a decent life. That's why I don't like it when people say, "let's just bomb the whole complex" or something like that.

It has become normal in this country for black folks to slaughter each other, we are expected to live like animals with no standards. I think George Zimmerman was a murderer and scumbag. But when a black person is killed by a non-black person, everybody comes out (Jesse,Al, Obama) and decry it. But never here any national outcry about kids that look just like Trayvon being killed by other black person every night. It's like we are holding and expecting the non-black person to live by a higher standard.

The violence in Chicago the last two years is part of the reason I haven't visited the city. It's on my list, though.

Sure, it can mean whatever you want it to mean... I'm not even talking about how good or bad the crime rate is, im just saying that calling the entire city of Chicago a shythole is inaccurate when this stuff is happening in a few little pockets... Also, that is how violent crime works in most cities... It is saturated amongst small pockets, not widespread across the entire city... If it is like that, than that would truly be a shythole...

Black males have claimed and benefited big from stand your ground laws in Florida, see link. Also what if Zimmerman and Trayvon where both black. You think will hear any thing from Obama. But these type of cases happen every night. But the issue is somebody shot up 13 people playing on a basketball court, and you won't hear nothing from our so-called black leaders about it. If this type of shyt happen in a predominately white area, they will be calling it a terrorist attack, declaring people enemy combatants and wanting to go to war with somebody. Blacks males are being killed at an alarming rate, and we become desensitize about it.
