The interesting thing about this match is that, compared to what we see every week today, not much actually happened. And given how hard Vince and JR sold Bret's heelish actions, everything he did wasn't really THAT bad in comparison to even the actions of some faces today.
But everything they did mattered. It wasn't a perfect match, really, but it is a fantastic one simply because everything they did was in service of getting the double turn over. Great piece of work (I would listen to an argument that puts their Survivor Series 1996 match on par with this one, as that's great and one of my favorite matches ever for almost completely different reasons).
