LA knight should have never been in the ring with Roman. They jumped the gun on this one. Knight should have went for the US or IC title and won coming off the miz feud.
I don’t know why they like to rush people to the main title as soon as they get over. And if they insisted on rushing him then he should have dethroned Seth
Speaking of Seth they should have went with Drew, it was obvious and they dropped the ball there as well. Hell I would have been fine with a priest cash in, let him get a short run until mania.
The only real mistake WWE made and continues to make is the finishes to Roman's matches. Roman is above cheating every title defense, and doing this same outcome so often weakens the strength of his title reign.
All this drop-the-ball and jumping-the-gun talk are all "in the moment" statements when you think about it.
You tell me what's a better path for LA Knight-- Winning the US title on some B-level PLE against Austin Theory, a guy who had no heat or did anything important with the title, or receiving his Wrestlemania moment by winning his first WWE title against Logan Paul?
You could argue LA Knight could go into Wrestlemania as champ to defend the US Title against Logan Paul. Sure, but then that would mean Logan Paul would win, and LA Knight has no Wrestlemania Moment other than being on the card. And that's also ignoring the possibility that he could lose the title before Wrestlemania, giving fans false hope that he would win the Rumble to face Roman or Seth(if he's champ by then). It's clear WWE is not going in that direction.
He's not the guy, but WWE can still reward LA Knight by defeating Logan Paul. There's going to be so much media attraction surrounding that match and LA Knight will look 100000 bucks at the end of Wrestlemania weekend. And since he's not the guy he can take an L against Roman.
Others used this same logic with Sami and Jey Uso, claiming their losses were a bad decision just for those guys to go on to main event night 1 of Wrestlemania and other PLEs and will also main event War Games, while main eventing RAW every weekend. Poor guys!
And it's clear Drew isn't that guy either, nor was Naka. This line of thinking has more to do with Seth's character being lazy and stale. If WWE plans to do a champion vs champion between Seth and Gunther at Wrestlemania, then sign me up.
