Still hate his defense. He's there to be hit and going up against someone with equal power that fights disciplined could give him real problems. I think him and Teo would be an interesting match if Teo head is right.
Yes and no.

Zepeda has legit power. It's been clear on display in numerous, previous fights, Prograis just had him under pressure all fight, mind fukked him too on some skill shyt mano e mano.

You can't pivot from the hips/waist and get shots off / angles like that the way Prograis does with your hands up in the traditional sense. It won't work. He keeps his head off the line nicely too. So it is what it is. I can't call it against an orthodox though, he makes it work really nice with the mirrored opposition.

Yeah the Teo fight is cool. I doubt Teo would take it though. Unless there was big, big money. Regis would jump at it imo. He wants paper ASAP.

On another note -

Prograis inside work the last round and a half was :blessed:.

Head position, deft arm displacement of opponent. No wonder Zepeda fought off the back foot/pivot most of the fight.

I respect the fukk out of Zepeda.

He gave him a harder fight than Taylor and never gave up

:why:How so?
Didn't you want to write that he gave him the toughest fight since Taylor?

Taylor vs Prograis was a nip-and-tuck war with Taylor coming away as the winner while Prograis was lighting Zepeda up from round 3.
Zepeda never gave up and agree that he deserves respect but besides a few flashes like the body shot that hurt Prograis he got beaten badly by the later rounds, Prograis made it clear there was a level difference and stopped him too.

The Taylor fight looked like they are exactly on the same level and you could barely tell who deserved to win there on points, let alone a stoppage.

He got a good chin though and I think when he gets into his groove, with his constant head and body movement he must be hell to fight against, not that easy to tag despite being a come-forward guy.

The Teo fight interests me the most too, Teo only had one fight at 140 but it's an interesting style matchup.
I also thought about how the other 3 of the "4 horsemen" would fare against him and I think he'd grind down both Kingry and Tank while the Haney fight is a head-scratcher, if Haney can earn his respect he can beat him by moving and boxing but it's tough to say.

This part I get. He just gets tagged way too much for my liking because of it. But I understand it allows him to get his offense off in the way he prefers.

Not really impressed by RP. He looks sloppy to me. Elite kids at 135 are a lot sharper and crisp with their shots and defense. He has a good work rate though and seems tough as nails. But in speed, reflexes and accuracy, etc, he’s not hanging with the best at 135-140.

I just think he gets washed by Shaq, Haney, Ryan and Teo :yeshrug:
I don't think those are automatic, especially Ryan who has a chin that's constantly exposed and looks kinda suspect and would be tasting real power at a higher weight class. It may not go well for him at all. I'm not a fan of Prograis defensive style, but I ain't gonna discredit him either.

Exactly. Have no idea how effective any of them would be at 140.
