you must not be familiar with how NBA cap spaces works, a 36 year old kobe taking up over +30% of the cap is one of the worst signings in the league within hte last few years
It's good move by the Laker simply for the fact that this his LAST contract. A lot of money is gonna get made from Jersey Sales and Kobe is still by far the biggest draw in the league both at home and the road. Plus he's at that point in his career where he's gonna be breaking all kinds of records
Lakers are definitely not capable of signing TWO max players now though. I'd be shocked if Pau is brought back. Hopefully Nash retires and give us a bit more cap space.
Even with Kobe's contract being so big the team will still have way more flexibility than they have had the past 3 seasons.
