. kobe is the only laker under contract for next year(nash as well be he will not be on the team in 14/15)

wade and bosh are each due 20 mil next year.. so thats 40mil what % of the cap is that. :lolbron:

I dont understand. how can the lakers afford to compete when they still got kobe making over $20M a season on his new deal???? :yeshrug:

It's good move by the Laker simply for the fact that this his LAST contract. A lot of money is gonna get made from Jersey Sales and Kobe is still by far the biggest draw in the league both at home and the road. Plus he's at that point in his career where he's gonna be breaking all kinds of records

Lakers are definitely not capable of signing TWO max players now though. I'd be shocked if Pau is brought back. Hopefully Nash retires and give us a bit more cap space.

Even with Kobe's contract being so big the team will still have way more flexibility than they have had the past 3 seasons.
