Lot of the logical booking issues that always plague brand war shyt: Team mates costing each other eliminations and then laughing despite making their win more difficult, people who should hate each other ignoring established storylines, and/or a mix of both. Made worse by NXT having a big show the night before and the women's team having Rhea pick two women she was in War Games AGAINST, two women who have been feuding for months, and then the two women that have been feuding for months pull a sneaky conjob fake injury angle together so they can come back and use a cheap heel tactic to win the match and then the NXT women all celebrate like heels. It was weird.
Everything with Corbin in that match was terribly done and actively harmed the match and made no sense. I guess the problem I have with this shyt more than anything is how inorganically it is done. shyt is so heavy handed and forced even when it kills the pace of a match. There should never be a point in one of these matches where a team mate laughs at someone on their team getting eliminated or helps eliminate someone on their team if they aren't walking out of the match right after. As a plus for the men's match, Ciampa and Keith Lee are (or should be) made men after that shyt. Ciampa despite his size and being in a War Games the night before took an RKO, Superman punch, and curb stomp to get put out. And Keith Lee eliminating Seth and smashing Roman around
. Flying WALTER over just to have him have one segment and get eliminated first (which if I'm not mistaken is his first loss of any kind in WWE, right?) with a one shot KO is the most WWE thing I can imagine.
Nakamura looked more fired up than I've seen him since NXT, stiff to the point of being borderline reckless. Strong getting the win in that match should make him a made man as well, he's really been the MVP of NXT for a while.
Brock losing the title in 2019 to Eddie Guerrero's son hitting a frog splash followed by Rey Mysterio hitting a frog splash would have been amazing tbh. Everyone can complain about Brock being lazy or his matches being the same thing, but fans ALWAYS come unglued for the hope spots in a way they don't for any other match so you can't shyt on it too much.
