:heh:. Even Ward sees it

Breh you tryin way too hard right now. Ward has already stated numerous times this is a 50/50 fight and that he still can't pick a winner. As have many other boxers and trainers. As well as most people in this thread. All you're doing is trying to preemptively discredit canelo on his victory....it's obvious to see. This is a great matchup with many variables to consider. On top of that it's pretty much guaranteed to be an exciting fight that will bring many eyes to the sport.

Errol spence is a 10 to 1 favorite over porter and yet every hardcore fan still considers it to be a great matchup. The odds mean nothing. Canelo will be praised by the whole boxing world if he pulls this off and that's all there is to it :yeshrug:

EArl being a 10-1 favorite is about right.

Since I don't stan neither fighter: what i think >>>> you think. Spence vs Porter is not a good example of odds considering neither fighter is going up in weight lol. You have your views and I have mine. Simple as that.

Kovalev: Canelo is a Real Fighter - Not Like Andre Ward!

By Boxing Clever

Published On Wed Sep 18, 2019, 06:48 PM EDT

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will be taking a big risk when he attempts to become a four-weight world champion when he takes on WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev on November 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Kovalev is back in the mega-fight mix after some believing that he was officially done after suffering back to back defeats to Andre Ward in 2016 and 2017.

Since then, Kovalev has won four out of his last five fights.
Kovalev was knocked out in seven rounds by Eleider Alvarez last August, but the Russian boxer got revenge in February.

Then last month, Kovalev had to fight through some tough moments to score a knockout of undefeated mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde in Russia.

According to Kovalev, he doesn't view either fight with Ward as a legit loss.

He believes Ward was gifted a decision in the first meeting, and he claims the retired Olympic gold medal winner used illegal low blows to secure a stoppage victory in the rematch.

“I already have experience at this level and am much smarter,” Kovalev said to the Washington Post. “I think this fight is going to be more interesting than my previous fights.

“Canelo is a real fighter. I like fighting real fighters. Not a guy like Ward. It’s a big fight for me, the biggest I’ve had. Canelo is one of the best pound-for-pound and I’m the best in the light heavyweight division right now. It will be a very good fight.”

Canelo is the younger, faster and fresher fighter, but he's also the much smaller fighter. Canelo, who holds titles at the middleweight limit of 160-pounds, will be moving up by two full weight divisions. And Kovalev is a big light heavyweight.

Canelo has never fought beyond the super middleweight limit of 168, when he moved up last December to blow away the overmatched Rocky Fielding in three rounds. But that fight was viewed as a mismatch, with Fielding previously being knocked out in a single round by Callum Smith.

Center self, inner self
I saw the whole fight and yarde nearly knock kovalev the fukk out. This is a good example on why you shouldn't drag your feet on making fights. Clenelo and team didn't show kovalev the proper re$pect at first so he was forced to take that mandatory so he didn't get stripped. Got an unexpected gut check and because of that canelo is 8 to 1 to 10 to 1 favorite over kovalev. Ppl who see clearly know what this fight is lol.

So you think by not making that fight the fight is less intriguing?

He's never been about taking risks. He's gonna keep playin it safe like he has his whole career. Canelo just built from a different cloth:jawalrus:

I can't call it

I'm still old school and think a fighter should move up and get acclimated to the weight before fighting a guy like Kovalev. I don't care how faded he may be.

However, when a fighter is adamant about moving up and targets a specific fighter, it has to be taken seriously. Canelo clearly see's something that he feels that he can exploit.

It's going to take Kovalev a few rounds to deal with that middleweight speed.

Canelo: GGG Not Taking Risks, Does Not Represent Anything To Me

Canelo Alvarez admits that he's not exactly motivated to have a third bout with middleweight rival Gennady Golovkin.

On November 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the Mexican superstar will climb up by two weight divisions to challenge Sergey Kovalev for the WBO light heavyweight title.

Canelo and Golovkin fought to a controversial twelve round split draw in 2017, and then Canelo won a close twelve round majority decision over GGG in 2018.

DAZN, who have exclusive contracts with Canelo and Golovkin, tried to match them for a third time - but Canelo had no interest in the contest.

He wants to take risks to further his legacy, and says that sole goal motivated him to move up for Kovalev.

Canelo believes he beat Golovkin the first time and the second time - and for the moment he sees no reason for a third bout.

"The truth is that I did not visualize that fight [with Golovkin] right now. I am taking these risks, these fights for my career, and right now he does not represent anything to me. I beat him twice and he does not represent a greater challenge for me to have a fight with him," Canelo said to ESPN Deportes.

"I am taking these challenges, I think he [Golovkin] should take these challenges in his career, but he has not taken any risks... it really does not represent any challenge to fight him again... so I am doing this [fight with Kovalev], big fights, big challenges for my career and the love of boxing.

"This is making history, it motivates me to make history, climb two divisions, win four titles, it represents more to me, adds more motivation and more risks... it represents much more to me than the other fight. I am taking the risks of this magnitude to make history."
