Dont wanna give Canelo credit for beating a champion 2 divisions higher... yet a lot of these same people give Anthony Joshua credit for beating an old Wlad in his 40s coming off a loss who had been inactive for 2 yrs... Where is the consistency??
Yiu didnt say that shyt in 2017 though..lol

Lemmie ask you this... If Kovalev is done does that mean anybody can jump up multiple weight divisions and decision/stop him?? Yes or No... Cause that's what some seem to be implying??
Is Canelo a 190-200 pound athletic LHW Anthony Yarde??

Who’s going to move up multiple weight classes for a high risk and low reward?

Only people that will do that is to get a high reward, for example anyone will move multiple weight classes to fight canelo and there isn’t many fighters that can give u the money a fight with canelo can bring so u won’t see multiple people doing that.

See when you can generate a lot of money u can pick whoever u want so u can cherry pick whoever u want and that includes any weight.

U think if Charlo called out Kovalev at 175 that Kovalev would even look his way? And why would Charlo risk a high risk low reward fight?

It’s all about money at the end of the day too... when u generating a lot of money or already have a lot of money u can take more risks too.

Lil G stans in here defying all their boxing logic and/or experience by hating on Canelo. shyt ain’t even that serious. Y’all need to let that shyt go.

That shyt really mind boggling:mindblown:. Out of all the fights that Canelo can pick from 160-175 Kovalev fight is the biggest EVENT. Yea there are a couple better fights at 175 and like 1 at 168 but none will be as big as a Kovalev and Nelo fight at this time.

First on one hand y’all claim he’s not that good and should have 3 losses. Y’all knock him for not finishing Chavez Jr and says his power is overrated..Y’all say he beat Danny Jacobs by the skin of his teeth and didn’t really impress with that win. One Spence stan even saying that Canelo would be food for a 147 Spence but Canelo will run thru a 175 Kovalev. shyt is absurd.

So I’m guessing y’all would rate him as just as above average to good MW. Then y’all saying Kovalev over the hill and this is a cherry pick all the while y’all been saying Canelo is just an above average/fringe good MW for the longest. If Canelo is some mid to begin with why y’all acting like Kovalev just easy work:patrice:. An over the hill light heavy vs a soft punching MW with multiple losses should be a decent fight using y’all logic.

If he is as overrated as y’all say this should be decent scrap.

I wasn’t online during the may/pac wars but I think the stanning is getting to that type of absurdity levels. No boxing logic just stan logic.

Canelo-Kovalev: Judges, Referee Approved By Nevada Commission
By Keith Idec
Published On Wed Oct 23, 2019, 01:20 PM EDT

Tony Weeks was included in the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s pool of potential officials, but Weeks wasn’t chosen Wednesday as the referee for the Canelo Alvarez-Sergey Kovalev fight.

The NSAC went with executive director Bob Bennett’s recommendation and approved Russell Mora as the referee for their 12-round fight for Kovalev’s WBO light heavyweight title November 2 in Las Vegas. The last time Weeks worked a Kovalev fight, his eighth-round stoppage of Kovalev’s rematch against Andre Ward caused controversy because Ward landed three consecutive, questionable body blows just before Weeks halted the action.

Kovalev’s handlers expressed concern to Bennett about the possibility of Weeks working his fight against Alvarez when the NSAC submitted its pool of possible officials earlier this month.

Bennett chose Mora over veteran Nevada referees Robert Byrd, Vic Drakulich, Jay Nady and Weeks.

Mora has not worked any of Alvarez’s 12 fights in Las Vegas since he first fought there in May 2010. Mora did officiate Alvarez’s ninth-round knockout of Jeferson Goncalo in June 2009 in Cancun, Mexico.

The NSAC also approved New York’s Julie Lederman, Nevada’s Dave Moretti and Connecticut’s Don Trella as the judges for the Alvarez-Kovalev fight at its monthly meeting Wednesday in Las Vegas.

Nevada judges Tim Cheatham, Eric Cheek, Lisa Giampa, Patricia Morse Jarman and Glenn Trowbridge, Connecticut’s Glenn Feldman and New Jersey’s Steve Weisfeld were among those Bennett also considered recommending to work the Alvarez-Kovalev fight.

Moretti has worked each of Alvarez’s past four fights in Las Vegas, and eight of Alvarez’s previous nine appearances in “The Fight Capital of the World.”

Trella has worked only one Alvarez fight. Lederman will judge her first fight involving Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs), who’ll move up two weight classes to challenge Russia’s Kovalev (34-3-1, 29 KOs) a week from Saturday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Moretti most recently scored the Mexican superstar a 115-113 winner over Daniel Jacobs in their middleweight title unification match May 4 at T-Mobile Arena. Feldman (116-112) and Weisfeld (115-113) also scored Alvarez the winner of that bout.

In Alvarez’s first fight against Gennadiy Golovkin, which resulted in a split draw, Moretti was the only judge to score Golovkin the winner (115-113).

Trella scored the first Alvarez-Golovkin bout a draw (114-114) in September 2017 at T-Mobile Arena. The third judge, Adalaide Byrd, infamously scored 10 rounds that night for Alvarez (118-110).

In their rematch, Moretti scored Alvarez a 115-113 victor against Golovkin, as did Weisfeld. Feldman scored that 12-rounder even, but Alvarez won a majority decision 13 months ago at T-Mobile Arena.

In Alvarez’s highest-profile fight, Moretti scored Floyd Mayweather Jr. a 116-112 winner over him in September 2013 at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Craig Metcalfe scored that bout 117-111 for Mayweather.

CJ Ross oddly scored Mayweather-Alvarez a draw (114-114). She was never assigned to judge another professional fight.

If he were to go back down, he should drop back to 168 and fight callum. A drop all the way back down to 160 so sudden could really affect his performances. If he does decide to go back down he should do it gradually. We seen it affect roy even though that was a more drastic weight difference

Definition of irony:russ:

You don't see me in little g fight threads talking shyt everyday. I don't care about dude like that. Even when he fought bum ass steve rolls I didnt make a single post in that thread until the day of the fight. I made one post in the dervychenko thread leading up to the fight. Only to say I thought it would be closer than people expect. None of you are gonna change the public perception that this is a great matchup.

A lot of you guys are being disingenuous just because you hate canelo. If little g was moving up 2 divisions to fight kovalev I'd give him all the props in the world. I know that would never happen cause he ain't built like that. But this is just some fantasy type shyt. In an alternate universe where gennady golovkin actually takes on the biggest challenges. A universe where he actually wins his biggest fights instead of choking in them. A universe where he actually spends time with his family.

See if we were in that universe right now. I would have no choice but to give him respect. But we're not. We're here. In this reality. Where canelo is the one taking the biggest challenges. And yea kovalev may not be in his prime anymore. But that's offset by the fact canelo is moving up 2 weight divisions. But you guys already know this.....it doesn't need to be explained. And saying kovalev is "done" is also disingenuous. Last I checked he's coming off two of the best wins of his career. Avenging his loss to Alvarez with a boxing masterclass. And then out dogging a young hungry beast in yarde. Yea he took some lumps but Anthony yarde is not a small guy. The only thing that matters is that kovalev overcame the adversity and got the knockout.

Like I said. None of you are gonna change anybody's opinion. The public has spoken. As well as canelo's boxing peers and rivals. And they all agree that this is a great matchup. Anybody saying otherwise is just being petty. If you hate a guy cool. But to not even give him props for moving up two divisions to fight the most accomplished fighter there?......smh. Just goes to show that L is still burnin.

The fight is a week away. It's official. Get over it and drop some predictions or some shyt:yeshrug:.......but yea yea I know. You didn't read none of that and it's fukk canelo all day everyday:russell:
