it's not though. The G1 serves a purpose of setting up your upper card scene going forward.
This is just another convoluted tournament to crown a champion for a title with no prestige that'll be forgotten as soon as it's put on someone.

They managed to make the tournament worse by putting 3 belts on the line in it. AEW really do be breaking new ground in wrestling
