I gotta believe Cody is smart enough to know he has to at least do it for a little while. Especially after he had no issue being the heel in the Bullet Club civil war angle a few years ago and was one of the best heels of the past 20 years imo. If he turned heel again now, He'd have waaaaaaaay more shyt to pull from his bag.

I think some guys don't get that sometimes the best way to get over as a face is to move through a heel turn for a bit and make the fans appreciate you from that angle.

I think it was the Lapsed Fan podcast that said that the smartest thing the WWF did with The Rock's budding face turn in 1998 was to take it away for a bit at Survivor Series. Made the full turn in 1999 that much sweeter.
