How old is your grandfather and how old are you? Where are you from? He was born a slave?
My father was born in 1963, My grandfather was born in 1929, My great grandmother mother born in 1898 and her father born in 1860 she was the last of like 15 children I believe. My years could be slightly off but I just talked with my grandfather about this a few months ago. I'm originally from Mississippi.

Most non-black people think I'm capping when I say I can still talk to someone who talked to an actual person that was born into slavery in America. My Grandfather use to never talk about but here lately he has been an open book with me about it.

@Lamar

This is beyond exciting and interesting to me. If you don't mind sharing, what has your Grandfather told you directly about the experiences of slavery to his knowledge?

I get that he wasn't one himself, but his mother was the child of a slave so I'm betting there was a lot of information passed down...

Specifically, what was the lifestyle said to be like? I know everything I've read before but it's more relevant to me to hear an account from someone directly tied to someone else who was a slave!

John Tyler was pro-slavery and was for the expansion of slavery in the western territories. I bet his legacy lives on. fukk him.

My mom used to go JTCC in Chester when I was a teenager, this the first time I ever heard he had any living decendants...

I didn't know he had that many kids either, but u use to always hear alota black muhfukkas being descendants of Jefferson...
